More than a board program – How deb. started my journey into entrepreneurship, early-stage investing, and continued leadership growth

When I applied to Deb’s board program in the spring of 2023, I had no idea it would mark the beginning of something much bigger. I joined to grow, learn more about board work, gain fresh perspectives, and connect with a powerful network of inspiring women. And I got all of that. But I also got something more: momentum toward a completely new chapter in my professional life.

Before joining Deb, I had already been part of a major transformation at Avanza, where we reorganized teams and built what would now be described as Empowered Product Teams – teams with direction, ownership, and the power to act. In the spring of 2022, I took the next step and became CTO at Insurello, where I’ve led a similar transformation. Both journeys have taught me a lot about leadership, trust, and how to build organizations where people and business thrive together.

Through Deb, I also had the opportunity to make my first investment in unlisted companies through an SPV in one of Wellstreet’s funds. I was encouraged to start my own company to continue investing that way. It might seem like a small step, but founding that company gave me access to completely new opportunities. It opened the door to a world of entrepreneurship and ownership.

Launching a course – and a new level of growth

This also gave me the courage to go even further outside my comfort zone. Just a few months ago, I launched my first online course:

Lead the Shift to Empowered Product Teams – for product and tech leaders who want to build autonomous, outcome-driven teams.

Marketing myself, showing up consistently, and being visible has been scary at times – but also deeply rewarding.

This is a course for Product & Tech leaders who want to build self-led teams that drive real outcomes for people, customers, and the business. Having run it twice so far, I guide leaders to create direction, ownership, and accountability in their teams while also increasing engagement, autonomy, and results.

On June 9, I’m hosting a free webinar where you’ll:

✨ Learn what Empowered Product Teams are—and why they’re key to success

✨ Discover common pitfalls that hold teams and leaders back

✨ Get practical steps you can apply right away

If you're leading in a scaling organization or want to shift from control to trust without losing results, this is for you.

Empowerment from the inside out

At the same time, I’ve been on a personal growth journey. I’ve learned to lead with more self-worth, clarity, and presence. Along the way, I met Sarah Hesslow, and together we created:

Lead and Breathe – Reclaim Your Energy

A course for women who want to set healthy boundaries, lead from a grounded place, and live and lead with renewed energy without guilt or burnout. This spring, over 40 women joined, and the response was overwhelming.

👉 Join our free masterclass on June 26

✨ Understand what boundary struggles are really about – beyond time and to-do lists
✨ Explore a more grounded, compassionate view of boundaries
✨ Learn micro-habits that start shifting your mindset already during the session

It’s designed for high-performing women who are tired of always being in overdrive and want to set clear boundaries, protect their energy, and lead with clarity and inner strength.

Paying it forward

This spring, I also became Vice Chair of Pink Programming, a non-profit working to support women in tech. Through Pink, I hope to help build a more inclusive industry where more women can grow, take space, and be seen.

In addition, I serve as a mentor through the Signe program, supporting women who are stepping into leadership or ownership roles. It’s one of the ways I try to pay it forward and help others grow with more clarity, confidence, and courage.

Today, I combine entrepreneurship, investments, course creation, and board work – all while continuing my role as CTO.

Every step I’ve taken has been guided by the same purpose:

To empower more people – leaders, teams, and individuals – to lead with clarity, energy, and courage.

My hope is that this story encourages you to surround yourself with people who inspire you and bring out your best.
