Emelie Renholm takes a seat at the board table at ByFaux and Nvrmind.
Emelie Renholm is one of the debsters from the 22/23 cohort. She has during this year taken two new board seats, at ByFaux and Nvrmind, and we are sure she will bring great value to the company.
Emelie has answered some questions to share more about her journey and her new missions.
Q: Give us a short introduction to yourself?
I started my career as a strategy consultant at BCG and then moved on to different operational responsibilities before taking on the CEO role in Newbody. Other valuable experiences include executive coaching and entrepreneurship.
When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. 3 daughters means a lot of logistic challenges and to achieve the balance needed, I prioritize exercising to keep sane.
Q: Tell us more about ByFaux and Nvrmind.
ByFaux is a small but rapidly growing company in Gothenburg, providing high quality artificial plant walls.
nvrmnd is a consultancy firm providing competence within system development, datascience and digital production, aiming at driving change and delivering high quality solutions in a collaborative and inspiring setting.
Q: What will be your primary contribution to their boards?
My main contribution is strategy and taking on a generalist perspective to help management find new approaches and tactics. Being experienced with board work from Newbody is also valuable in contributing to developing processes in the board. I also believe my CEO experience is of great value in discussions with the CEO and the management team. Board work in smaller companies also provides value by challenging internal perspectives and follow up on strategic decisions.
Q: Name one thing you take with you from the deb. program?
I have learnt so much from the deb program in general and especially from listening to Regina Sipos regarding how to enter new boards and how to always take on a professional approach in the boardroom. The legal aspects of the role, thoroughly described in the course, are of course also very important. Knowledge sharing among all participants has been very valuable for me and I believe the network will mean a lot to me going forward.
Q: What is the best part of being on a board?
I love having the opportunity to learn from different companies, industries and people while being able to contribute leveraging my own experience. The win-win situation that occurs when knowledge is shared and leveraged in this way is very rewarding to everyone involved. As a member of the board you add value by taking on a high-level perspective to help management accomplish tangible results on an operational level, which gives me energy as well as inspiration.
At deb. we are so happy for your success and we are sure you will do a great job in their boards! 🌟
